◆Event Overview◆
At the 20th World Lake Conference (WLC20) Youth Session, there will be a film session in which youth from around the world introduce their local lake conservation efforts, along with a discussion on how youth can contribute to Sustainable Lake Management (SLM) through citizen science, environmental education, and community involvement. This discussion will also focus on the unique value and cultural significance of lakes, exploring how these connections can inspire youth-led actions in support of World Lake Day.
Additionally, a new online platform, first envisioned during last year’s SLM Week, will be unveiled during this session. The platform aims to foster international connections among youth involved in lake conservation, providing a space to share experiences, learn from one another, and strengthen cross-border collaboration.
At the venue, youth from Australia, the host country, as well as Japan, Mexico, Uganda, and Zambia will gather, while online, youth from Australia, Japan, Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya will also participate.
Participants, both in person and online, will have the opportunity to engage with presenters through a live Q&A and take part in a broader global youth dialogue on SLM.
