ILEC held the 1st Domestic Committee Meeting of the 18th World Lake Conference (WLC18) in Otsu on February 20th. WLC18 Domestic Committee is composed of some from academic, administrative and private sectors. The committee members are expected to advise for preparing the World Lake Conference held abroad. For WLC18, eight experts were appointed as committee members and gave their opinions about the expected status of participation of local societies and government. The ILEC secretariat gave some information about circumstances of lakes and water environment in Mexico and explained the current status of preparation for the conference. We have eight months left to WLC18 and we will have the 2nd Domestic Committee Meeting in Summer to ensure a successful WLC18.
