Report on International Exchange Meeting Project on Watershed Conservation

We, ILEC, invited experts from overseas concerned with residents’ activities for watershed conservation and who participated in the 17th World Lake Conference (from 15th to 19th October) held in Tsukuba, to Shiga, and on October 21 (Sunday) we held an exchange meeting with residents’ activities organizations under the auspices of Shiga Prefecture.
We invited two experts from each of Thailand and Mexico and they made case presentations on environmental learning and communication with residents. After the presentations we exchanged opinions with members of the residents’ activities group in Shiga. It was noted that environmental learning is useful for self-formation of moral code of conduct, and there were questions about to grasp the effect of the learning, among others.
We thank all those who participated.
