Message from Consul-General of Thailand in Osaka and Efforts to Secure Fresh Water in Thailand

Mr. Krit Tankanarat, Consul-General of Thailand in Osaka kindly delivered a following message to ILEC.

Efficient water resource management has long been the heart of Thailand’s national development plan, as Thailand is predominantly an agricultural country prone to flooding and drought. The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Osaka is pleased to learn about the work of the International Lake Environment Committee Foundation (ILEC) in Shiga Prefecture in promoting conservation and management of world lakes and basins. This coincides with Thailand’s 3,386 Royal Development Projects in water resource development with the aim to secure the livelihood of the Thai people. The Consulate-General looks forward to cooperating closely with ILEC to share knowledge and expertise in smart water resource management to realize the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal on water and sanitation for the benefit of the people of Thailand, Japan and the international community at large.
